16. EMC physician member compensation opportunities

In addition to a compensation plan for specialty committee chairpersons and physicians who take active administrative positions with the company, there will be a plan for the hours of work contributed by the physician members.  Members who make significant contributions to the organizations’ peer review, educational and research arms.  A plan has been developed by the Board of Directors to identify and compensate such members in the following manner:

Specialty Committee review panels – Members participating in an active testimony review process are budgeted to be compensated at the average hourly rate for expert medical testimony document review for the specific specialty.

Medical-legal research – Members contributing noteworthy articles germane to the EMC mission that are accepted for publication at the EMC website will be compensated based on an analysis of the downloads and other access to that article as recorded electronically.  This applies to general and specialty research work.

Medical-legal education – Members developing educational modules accepted by EMC to be marketed as EMC cost items will be compensated on a percentage basis relative to the volume utilization and access to the module via the educational marketing arm of EMC.
